Transformation in Learning through Web 2.0 Interactive Instructional Materials for Enhancing Employability of College Students: A Need Analysis Approach

Abstract


During the last three decades, Technology has become
one of the most significant drivers of both socio- cultural and
linguistic change. Due to this rapid expansion of Web 2.0
technologies such as twitter, facebook, youtube, blogs, wikispace,
online forums etc., teachers are able to scale new horizons in the
field of teaching and learning. In fact, computer plays a major
role as a good teaching learning resource and provides a rich
environment especially in English Language Teaching and
learning. Therefore, in order to keep our education system in
pace with the changed educational needs and environment we
need to essentially incorporate computers in English Language
Teaching. This research aims to help widening the employment
profile of the college students from rural background of
Rajasthan by increasing their command over English
communication skills. This paper also suggests how the
technology can be integrated to inculcate effective
communication skills.
